Box Score BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – On Saturday, the Southwestern College women's soccer team traveled down to Bartlesville, Okla. to play No. 6-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University for their eighth Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) fixture. The Builders did not have their best performance of the campaign, as they were defeated by the Eagles by a score of 6-0.
The first half was quite interesting as the Builders started off with shots by Taylor Holcombe and Paige Roberts. However, the Builders realized quickly that the Eagles possessed a steady offensive output. In the 26th minute of the game, Laura Maria scored the first goal of the game to put up Oklahoma Wesleyan up 1-0.
Overall, Oklahoma Wesleyan controlled the ball for most of the game, putting up a total of twenty-nine shots throughout the 90 minutes of action.
In the 55th minute, Naroa Domenech scored with an assist by Laura Maria to improve the lead to 2-0 for the Eagles. Only 5 minutes later, Domenech used another chance that was assisted by Juliana Viera to score her second goal of the game.
The Eagles were not done yet. On the contrary, Laura Maria, Daniela Ortiz, and Kendrie Escoe scored in the 79th, 82nd, and 84th minutes, respectively, making the final score 6-0 in favor of the Eagles.
Bryanna Kuhn led the Builders in shots with three where two of them were on goal. Mallorie Lund racked up 12 saves in the match but faced a total of 18 shots on frame.
The Builders (7-4-3, 5-1-2 KCAC) are now preparing to play again on Wednesday, October 19 when they play at home against Ottawa University at 6 p.m. With just four matches remaining, the Builder women will be looking to create another winning streak as the squad heads into postseason play.
