Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

SC Women's Soccer Fall to Friends University in the KCAC Tournament Quarterfinal, 2-0

Wichita, Kan. – On Saturday, November 4th, the Southwestern College women's soccer squad made their way up to Wichita, Kan., where they faced the Falcons of Friends University for the KCAC Tournament Quarterfinal. A hard-fought battle by both teams ended in a loss for the Builder, 2-0.

The game started in favor of the Falcons as they scored the first goal of the game in the 37th minute. Keily Larosee scored after an assist by Hanon Nakagami to take the lead for the Falcons. The Builders, needing a response, received a penalty kick in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, the Builders did not take the chance to equalize, as Lillian Grisso missed the penalty kick wide.

Coming out of the locker room after halftime, both teams were prepared to go to battle. Just minutes after kickoff, Friends University received a penalty kick on their side, which resulted in a goal and, therefore, the 2-0 lead for the Falcons. The Builders had a chance to start a comeback in the 88th minute, as Bryanna Kuhn stepped up for another Builder penalty kick. Still, unfortunately, the final score stayed at 2-0 Friends University.

The loss against Friends University in the KCAC Tournament Quarterfinal completes the season of the Southwestern College women's soccer team with a record of 7-8-4, 6-4-3 KCAC. Although the last game did not show the desired result, the lady Moundbuilders can still reflect on a successful season. We will look forward to seeing the squad back at it in the 2024 campaign.
