WINFIELD, KAN. – On Saturday morning, September 23rd, the Southwestern College women's soccer team hosted play against the visitors of Tabor College at Richard L. Jantz Stadium in Winfield, Kan. The Lady Builders had to take defeat after dropping the game 2-1 to the Bluejays.
The game started in favor of the Bluejays as Tabor's forward scored the first goal to change the score to 1-0 Tabor. The Builders tried to start to come back in the first half with shots by Lillian Grisso and Teagan Smith but could not get the ball over the line.
Starting the second half of play, the Builders looked more dangerous and ambitious to score a goal. In the 50th minute, Bryanna Kuhn used an assist by Ana Llanos to tie the game 1-1. Unfortunately, the Bluejays responded within five minutes as they took back the lead in the 54th minute as they scored the final goal of the game.
The Builders (2-5-1. 1-2 KCAC) are now preparing to face Ottawa University on Wednesday, September 27th at 5:00 p.m. in Ottawa, Kan., hoping for a win to get back on track.
