WINFIELD, KAN. – On Saturday, April 6^th, the Southwestern Flag Football squad hosted play to the visitors of Midland University at Richard L. Jantz Stadium in Winfield, Kan. In a hard fought battle, Southwestern College emerged victorious against Midland University with a final score of 13-6.

The first quarter of the game remained a defensive battle, with neither team able to break through and put points on the board. However, the Builders managed to seize the momentum in the second quarter when Miranda Dooley dashed 25 yards for a touchdown with only 25 seconds left on the clock, giving them a 7-0 lead at halftime.

Midland University fought back in the third quarter, as Allaya Livingston punched in a 7-yard touchdown run at the 8:22 mark, narrowing the gap to 7-6.

As the game entered its final quarter, both teams were locked in a tense struggle. With just 14 seconds remaining, Southwestern College's Miranda Dooley came up with a game-changing play, intercepting a pass and returning it 24 yards for a touchdown, securing victory for her team with a final score of 13-6.

Despite a valiant effort from Midland University, Southwestern College's strong defensive performance and clutch plays proved to be the difference-maker in this hard-fought Flag Football contest.
The Builders will be back on Wednesday, April 10^th at 6:00 PM when they battle Bethel College at Richard L. Jantz Stadium in Winfield, Kan.
