LINDSBORG, Kan. — Southwestern College women's soccer wrapped up its regular season on a strong note Saturday evening, defeating Bethany College 2–0 in Conference play.
The Moundbuilders (5–7–4, 5–4–4) controlled the match from the opening whistle, holding the Swedes (1–14–1, 1–12) to just two total shots.
Southwestern broke through in the 41st minute when Millie Hazzard calmly converted a penalty kick to give the Moundbuilders a 1–0 halftime advantage. Hazzard continued to make an impact in the second half, assisting Kaitlyn Walker's goal in the 74th minute to secure the two-goal cushion.
Goalkeeper Hayden Clark earned the shutout with one save as the defense kept Bethany scoreless for the full 90 minutes. Southwestern outshot Bethany 14–2, including an 11–0 edge in the second half, and held a 5–0 advantage in corner kicks.
Southwestern now awaits the final KCAC postseason standings and tournament seedings to be determined later.
