WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern College dropped both ends of a conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon against Oklahoma Wesleyan, falling 10-0 in five innings in the opener and 11-0 in five innings in Game 2.
The Moundbuilders (5-15, 1-9 KCAC) were limited offensively throughout the day, managing just seven total hits across the two games while Oklahoma Wesleyan (20-6, 5-1 KCAC) combined for 22 hits and 21 runs.
In the opener, Southwestern recorded four hits but was unable to capitalize, stranding three runners.
Oklahoma Wesleyan broke the game open early with three runs in the first inning and added five more in the third to take control.
Game 2 followed a similar script as the Eagles jumped out early and never looked back. Southwestern was held to just three hits in the 11-0 loss.
Aubrey Allison, Mackenzie Reinert and Tiara Henry accounted for the Builders' hits in the nightcap, with Allison reaching base twice.
Oklahoma Wesleyan was led offensively on the day by Brooklyn Purtell and Maria Fory, who combined for multiple extra-base hits and drove in key runs in both contests.
Southwestern will look to bounce back in conference play as the Moundbuilders continue KCAC action later this week.
