WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern College women's soccer opens the 2026 season Monday, Aug. 24, with a 5 p.m. nonconference matchup against Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Oklahoma.
The Builders enter the season after two scrimmages last week and will look to mix several new faces with an experienced returning core. Southwestern finished 5-8-4 last season and returns graduate student Maggie Bielefeld, seniors Millie Hazzard and Abigail Webb, junior Lou Forder, and sophomore Kaila Correa. With returning leadership and new talent, rotations will be something to watch early in the season.
Monday will also be a rematch of last year's meeting, when SCU defeated Southwestern 2-1. Returning junior Sofia Ovando and returning graduate student Shosona Graham scored for the Eagles, while graduating senior Natalie Belanger recorded the Builders' goal.
Southwestern Christian finished last season 14-7-2 and will also be playing its first official game of the 2026 season.
The Builders will look to carry what they learned from their preseason scrimmages into Monday's opener as they begin the 2026 campaign with an experienced returning group and several new players ready to make an impact.
