Adam Kirby was named the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at Southwestern College prior to the 2016 season. Kirby joins the Moundbuilder staff following a two-year stint as the Offensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at NCAA Div. III McMurry University in Abilene, Texas.
In his two seasons at McMurry, Kirby's offensive line received national recognition as Derek Baldeschwiler was voted a first team All-American in both the 2014 and 2015 seasons while Brendon Brinkmann was named an Honorable Mention All-American in 2015.
Prior to his stint at McMurry, Kirby served as the Offensive Line coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas. In his one season at ICC, four of Kirby’s offensive linemen received scholarships to four year institutions.
Kirby got his start in coaching in 2011 when he served as the Offensive Line Coach, Run Game Coordinator and Assistant Recruiting Coordinator at Texas College in Tyler, Texas. While there, he coached five all-conference linemen with Richard Lee gaining first team all-conference and second team All-American honors. His offensive line helped pave the way for two all-conference running backs, as Marquise Thompson and Edward Burns both received honorable mention honors.
He has also had the privilege to coach in the Offense-Defense High School All-American game at Cowboys Stadium, where he was the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach.
In 2016, Kirby was selected to participate in the prestigious NFL-NCAA Coaching Academy in Orlando, Florida.
Kirby is also published, contributing articles to xandolabs.com entitled: "Simplifying a Count System and Rules in the IZ" and "McMurry University's 6 Essentials for OL Scouting Reports".
Kirby is a native of New London, Texas and received his associate’s degree from Lon Morris College and his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Tyler.
He is married to his high school sweetheart; the former Rachel King. The couple lives in Winfield.
