After helping lead the Moundbuilders to a 7-2 season in 2020, Bauer returns for his fifth season in Winfield. He remains the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach. In 2020, the Southwestern offense averaged a whopping 38.2 points per game under his direction.
In 2017, Bauer mentored two running backs who earned All-KCAC honors as Keyshawn Wyatt was named to the 2nd Team and Silas Jefferson was named Honorable Mention.
Under Bauer’s guidance, senior kicker Mario Esparza was named 1st Team All-KCAC, 2nd Team All-American and was named the KCAC Special Teams Player of the Year.
Prior to coming to Southwestern, Bauer served on staff at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana where he served as the Wide Receivers Coach as well as Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
Bauer got his start in coaching at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa where he served as the Running Backs coach from 2014-2015. While at William Penn, Bauer coached two All-Conference running backs.
A native of Terre Haute, Indiana, Bauer received his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Friends University in 2013 and his master’s degree in Business Leadership from William Penn University in 2015.
