Southwestern College

Jeff Kontz joined the Moundbuilder Football staff in 2015 as an Assistant Football Coach. He will serve as the coach for the Defensive Backs.

Kontz comes to Southwestern after a one-year stint at Southern Miss working as the Graduate Assistant for the Video Department, shooting and editing coaches video as well as creating highlight videos for the program.

Prior to Southern Miss, he was on staff at Valley Center High School in Kansas, working with the Safeties and serving as the Defensive Coordinator for the Freshmen team.

Kontz spent his collegiate career playing Safety at Friends University from 2008 – 2012. Following college, Kontz played one season for the Wichita Wild indoor professional football team and was a member of their 14-2 Champions Professional Indoor Football League Championship.

Kontz is a Derby, Kansas native and graduated from Derby High School in 2008.

At Southwestern, Kontz is working on his MBA to accompany his undergraduate degree in Communications.
