The 2021-22 season marks Tim Miser's 12th season on the Southwestern College men's basketball coaching staff, and his third as the team's associate head coach. During Miser's tenure, he has helped lead Southwestern on a run of four straight appearances in the KCAC tournament championship game and two national tournament berths. While in his current position as associate head coach, Southwestern won the KCAC regular-season championship, their first since ’05-’06, went to their first-ever NAIA Round of 16 appearances and first-ever national tournament win. That was then followed that up with a KCAC tournament championship and another trip to the Round of 16.

Miser’s close work with Chris Waller, Cameron Clark, Cameron Hunt, and Andrew Hamm has led them to become All-Americans. Cameron Clark became a four-time All-American and was the leading scorer and rebounder in Southwestern history. Cameron Hunt became a second-team All-American, and in 2018-19 became the NAIA and NABC National Player of the Year, as well as passing Clark as the leading scorer in Southwestern history. Miser has also helped coach 38 all-conference players.

Since Miser took over as offensive coordinator prior to the 2015-2016 season, Southwestern has become a potent offensive team, leading the KCAC in scoring three times and among the top two in four of the last five years. Southwestern was the top field goal percentage offense in the KCAC four of the last five seasons, Miser has been in control of the offense, as well as being top three in three-point percentage in four of the last five seasons.

The success was not just in the KCAC, as Miser had the Moundbuilders ranked in the top 20 nationally in field goal percentage, total three-point field goals made, scoring offense per game, and total scoring offense in four of the last five seasons.

Miser has also helped Southwestern achieve excellence off the court and in the classroom. He has been a part of two national champions of character team awards, a National Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award, and NAIA scholar team (GPA above 3.0) four times.

Miser completed his Bachelor’s degree from Southwestern in 2010 and received his Master’s degree in Management from Southwestern in 2012. Miser was born and raised in Emporia, Kan., and enjoys watching and playing sports as well as working out in his spare time.
