  • Alma Mater
    Southwestern

Stinson, a 1979 graduate of Southwestern College, is entering his second full campaign leading the Moundbuilder golf programs in 2021.

He has spent 39 years as a high school teacher. Most recently Stinson taught biology and physical science at Ponca City High School. During his six-year tenure PCHS, he also served as the head men's golf coach. Under his leadership, he saw several state individual qualifiers and the team as a whole qualified for state in 2018 at a very competitive Oklahoma 6a level. In addition, some of the players he coached there went on to play collegiately at Southwestern. Prior to coaching at Ponca City, Stinson coached golf at Arkansas City High School for 17 years, where he helped lead the team to state most of the years he was there and even enjoyed a state championship with the Bulldogs.

As a student-athlete at Southwestern, Stinson was a four-year starter in football and also competed in basketball and track & field. He was a unanimous All-KCAC selection his senior year in football. This will not be Stinson's first time coaching at Southwestern as he came back to the college in 2007, leading the defensive backs until 2011.

In 2019, Stinson was inducted to the Southwestern College athletics hall of fame. Most recently, he has become a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) certified instructor.
