Cori Meyer

  • Title
    Head Coach
2009 was Cori Meyer's fourth season at the helm of the Southwestern Volleyball Program. A Wichita native, Meyer was named head coach upon completion of a successful playing career at Wichita State University in 2006.
Meyer's career originated at Bishop Carroll High School. As a two-time member of the All-State team, she led the Eagles to three state tournament appearances and took home a state title in 1998.  Success followed Meyer to the collegiate level; as she helped the Shockers earn two conference titles and a long-awaited appearance in the NCAA tournament. Meyer's final season included a nomination to the MVC All-Conference 2nd team.

Meyer excelled not only on the court, but also in the classroom.  While majoring in Sport Administration, she sustained a GPA that earned a spot on the MVC All-Academic Honorable Mention.  Meyer is currently concluding her studies in the Sport Administration Master's program at WSU.

During her collegiate experience, Meyer also spent four years coaching youth volleyball.  Currently, she is the director and administrator of the Shockwave volleyball club.  The organization encompasses 12 traveling teams and maintains a season of 8-10 tournaments per team.

Meyer's experience has been influential in developing her knowledge about the sport of volleyball and team sports in general.  Her fresh perspective and youthful outlook will make her a commendable addition to Southwestern's coaching team.
