Abraham Rodriguez Jr

The 2025–26 season marks the beginning of Abraham Rodriguez’s collegiate coaching career as he joins the Southwestern men’s basketball program. A former member of the Sports Information Department, Rodriguez transitions to the sidelines, bringing with him a diverse background in athletics and athlete development.
A native of San Antonio, Rodriguez is a proud Southwestern College alum and former student-athlete. He played a pivotal role in helping the Moundbuilders capture the 2023 KCAC championship under head coach Matt O’Brien. Before transferring to Southwestern, he competed at Northern Oklahoma College, where he earned an associate's degree in sports medicine.
Rodriguez began his coaching journey at Enid High School during the 2023–24 academic year. There, he focused on player development, assisted with scouting, and played a key role in monitoring academics to ensure student-athlete eligibility.
In 2024–25, he returned to Southwestern as a graduate assistant, working in the Sports Information Department while continuing to gain valuable experience in collegiate athletics.
In addition to his coaching and administrative experience, Rodriguez has also contributed at the grassroots level, assisting with event operations for Adidas 3SSB, Nike EYBL, and PUMA basketball circuits.
