Cody Ripato

Cody Ripato joined the Southwestern College men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in 2026, bringing experience in player development, scouting, game preparation, and program operations.

Prior to arriving at Southwestern, Ripato spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at LeTourneau University. During his time with the YellowJackets, he played an integral role in individual skill development, opponent scouting, practice and game preparation, and the program’s day-to-day operations. Ripato helped LeTourneau earn 35 victories, produce seven all-conference selections, and make two appearances in the conference tournament semifinals.

Before beginning his coaching career, Ripato played five seasons of collegiate basketball. He spent his final three seasons at William Paterson University, where he served as a team captain, earned Academic All-NJAC honors twice, and received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition. Ripato appeared in 57 games, made 33 starts, and shot 43 percent from the field during his career at William Paterson.

Ripato also brings valuable international coaching experience, having worked alongside Southwestern head coach Matt O’Brien at the Paris World Games and in Barbados. During those opportunities, the coaching staff helped guide its team to a gold medal.

Known for his energy, work ethic, and commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court, Ripato is expected to make an immediate impact on the Moundbuilders program in his first season.
