Southwestern College

Conner Cheney is entering his third year on staff at Southwestern College. A native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Cheney was a member of the Southwestern football program from 2020 to 2024 and helped the team capture two conference championships during his playing career.

Cheney earned bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Business Administration in 2023 before completing his master’s degree in Sport Management in 2024. He began his coaching career at Southwestern in 2024 as the tight ends coach, helping guide the team to an 11-2 record and a conference championship. In 2025, he transitioned to coaching the wide receivers and contributed to an offense that ranked first nationally in scoring at 51.9 points per game and first in passing touchdowns with 46.

Cheney was recently named the head coach of Southwestern’s flag football program and will continue serving as the wide receivers coach for the football team. The 2027 season will mark his first year leading the flag football program.
