Southwestern College

Marta Pons Gomez has joined the Southwestern College women’s basketball staff as a graduate assistant coach.

A native of Sevilla, Spain, Pons Gomez has played basketball nearly her entire life, beginning at CBC2H at age 3. She competed during the 2020-21 season with CB Sevilla as an F2-level player, a semiprofessional league in Spain.

In 2021, she moved to the United States to continue her playing career at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska, where she competed from 2021 to 2023 in the NJCAA. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration while at Northeast.

She then transferred to Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, to play at the NCAA Division II level from 2023 to 2025. She graduated in May 2025 with a degree in marketing.

Pons Gomez is now pursuing her master’s degree in business administration while contributing to the Moundbuilders as a graduate assistant.
