WINFIELD, KAN. – On Saturday, October 21, the Southwestern College women's soccer team hosted play against the visiting Panthers of York University at Richard L. Jantz Stadium in Winfield, Kan. A game where the Builders honored and celebrated Senior night ended in a draw, 1-1.
The game started in favor of the Builders, as Bryanna Kuhn scored the first goal in the 5th minute to take the lead for the Builders. An early goal that should have given the Builder more momentum, but it didn't. The Builder stayed scoreless until the end of the game.
Instead, the Panthers of York University returned after halftime and tied the game 1-1 in the 47th minute. Marilyn Silos scored after an assist from Cleo Paris.
Lillian Grisso and Bryanna Kuhn led the team in shots (3), and Mallorie Lund led the team in saves (5).
The Builders (7-6-3, 6-3-2) are now preparing to face the University of Saint Mary on October 25 at 5:00 p.m. at Leavenworth, Kan. With only two regular-season games left, the Builders prepare to finish the season strong and hope for a winning end.
