Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Builder Women's Soccer Triumphs Against Avila University, 4-0

WINFIELD, KAN. – On Wednesday, October 4th, the Southwestern College women's soccer team hosted play to the visiting Eagles of Avila University. The Lady Builder shined with brilliant play and triumphed over the Eagles, 4-0.

The game started in favor of the Builders as Lillian Grisso scored the first goal of the night in the 15th minute to change the score to 1-0 Builders. Grisso curved it like Beckham as she curved the corner kick into the long corner of the goal to score. In the 36th minute, Lydia Travis received a pass from Daniela Barrantes Perez and hammered the ball over the Eagles goalkeeper into the goal to score the second goal of the day.

Coming back from halftime, the Builders had another chance as Bryanna Kuhn received a penalty kick in the 55th minute. Kuhn walked up and just missed the goal left. The Builders, not affected by the miss, kept going. In the 68th minute, Ana Llanos danced around a few Eagles defenders, sent the ball towards the goal line, and scored as the ball took a deflection of the Eagles defender. To finish things off, Kuhn added the last and final goal to the game when she scored in the 74th minute with an assist by Grisso.

Kuhn led the team in shots (5), where 2 of them went on goal, and goalkeeper Mallorie Lund earned a well-deserved clean sheet as she had five saves.

The Builders (4-5-2, 3-2-1 KCAC) are now preparing to host McPherson College on October 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Richard L. Jantz Stadium in Winfield, Kan.
