WINFIELD, KAN. – On Saturday, October 7th, the Southwestern College women's soccer team hosted play to the visiting Bulldogs of McPherson College at Richard L. Jantz Stadium in Winfield, Kan. The Builders scored four goals at home to take the win over McPherson College.
The game started in favor of the Builders as they used an early chance to go up by one. Bryanna Kuhn scored in the 1st minute of the match as she pushed the ball past the goalkeeper into the net. Just a few minutes later, in the 24th minute, Jules Cowley used a pass by Ana Llanos to score the second goal for the Builders to improve their lead to 2-0.
Coming back from halftime, the Builders kept pushing to add another goal to the scoreboard. In the 49th minute, Jules Cowley scored her second goal of the day to change the score to 3-0 Builders. Her goal was assisted by Kuhn. Two minutes later, Cowley returned the favor and assisted Kuhn as she scored the last and final goal to win the game for the Builders, 4-0.
Jules Cowley and Bryanna Kuhn led the team with shots (6), and Mallorie Lund earned another clean sheet with four saves.
The Builders (5-5-2, 4-2-1) are preparing to face Friends University on Saturday, October 11th, in Wichita, Kan.
