BETHANY, OK – November 8, 2023, the Southwestern College (0-3) women's basketball team faced a tough challenge, losing to Southwestern Christian University Eagles, 61-82.
Christy Wiebe would score the first points of the game to give the Builders an early 2-0 lead, the first points of her 21-point night. Wiebe would score 7 of the Builders 16 first quarter points, but SC found themselves down 16-25 after the first quarter.
The Builders would outscore the Eagles, 12-10 in the second quarter to narrow the gap by halftime, but still trailed 28 - 35.
The third quarter proved to be a significant turning point, as Southwestern Christian unleashed an offensive performance, outscoring Southwestern College 31-15. Puttin the Eagles comfortably ahead 66-43 at the end of the third quarter.
Builder head coach
Chardonnae Parker did a fantastic job inspiring the Builders to compete in the final quarter. The Moundbuilders found a way to outscore the Eagles 18-16, but fell short 61-82.
Key Stats:
- Wiebe led the team with 21 points, on an efficient 10-16 shooting performance and seven rebounds.
- Saylee Smith had 15 points.
- Kennedy Ford finished with 14 points, four rebounds.
- Allyson Jackson grabbed eight rebounds.
