Builder Men's Soccer Falls to Ottawa University On The Road, 6-2.

OTTAWA, KAN. – On Wednesday night, September 27th, the Southwestern men's soccer team traveled up north to battle the Braves of Ottawa University at Ottawa, Kan. A night where the Builders could not find their rhythm ended in a 6-2 loss.

The game started in favor of the Braves, as Felipe Padierna scored the first goal of the game in the 18th minute to take the lead for Ottawa. The Braves, with momentum, then went on and scored another goal in the 29th minute to improve their lead to 2-0. Not done yet, the Braves added another goal to the scoreboard in the 30th minute to change the score to 3-0 Braves. The Builder fired a few shots on goal but could not get anything going.

Coming back from halftime, the Builders were motivated to start a comeback. In the 69th minute, Mamadou Diarra scored a penalty kick to change the score to 3-1. Then, just a few minutes later, Eduardo Gonzalez brought hope to the Builder team as he scored the second Builder goal of the day, 3-2. Unfortunately, the Braves responded within minutes, improving their lead in the 79th minute to 4-2.

The game continued, and the Braves of Ottawa University continued their offensive attacks by adding two more goals to the scoreboard. A goal in the 81st minute and another in the 82nd minute made the game a final 6-2 win for the Braves of Ottawa University.

The Builders (3-5, 1-3 KCAC) are now preparing to face Bethel College on September 30th at 6:30 p.m. in North Newton, Kan.
