YORK, Neb — Saturday, January 27, 2024, No. 9 ranked Southwestern College (17-2, 12-2) defeated York University (7-12, 5-8), 81-75.

The nation's No.1 scorer,
Cevin Clark was able to pace the Builders with 16 first half points, and he would finish with 39 points for the game, but the Panthers didn't make it easy.

Trailing for the majority of the first half, with 2:55 left in the half and SC down 33-37, the KCAC's assist leader,
Andrew O'Brien hammered an emphatic dunk down the middle of the lane to spark the Builder run.

After a York timeout, Southwestern got a defensive stop and turned that into a
Trey White layup to tie the game, 37-37.

The next offensive possession, "Mr. Reliable",
Justin DeMaria hit one of his three, three-pointers, to go ahead 40-37. The Builders would never give up the lead again.

Southwestern was able to shoot 50 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc to start the game, but York stayed within striking distance throughout the half, 42-37 at the break.

Southwestern's largest second half lead was 11 and York battled to the end after being forced to foul they cut the lead down to four points with 10 seconds remaining. But Clark would hit two final free throws to push the lead to six and win 81-75.

Clark's 39 led all scorers.
Andrew O'Brien contributed seven assists and six rebounds.
DeMaria added 13 points and three rebounds.
