WINFIELD, Kan. – The Moundbuilders secured a 1-0 victory over Friends University in KCAC conference women's soccer action.
The decisive goal came in the 64th minute when
Ella Wiechman found the back of the net, marking her first goal of the season.
Southwestern's defense, anchored by goalkeeper
Hayden Clark, stood firm against 10 shots from Friends, with Clark making five key saves, including a crucial penalty stop in the first half.
Despite Friends dominating possession and attempts, Southwestern's efficiency and Clark's stellar performance ensured the win.
Southwestern will be back in action at home, Saturday, Oct. 19 against Sterling College at 5:30 p.m.
