WINFIELD, Kan. — The Moundbuilders rallied in the second half to claim a 2-1 victory over Sterling College in a thrilling home game victory.

Despite a scoreless first half, the action ramped up after the break, with Sterling's Emorie Sautter opening the scoring at the 50:43 mark. The Lady Warriors appeared poised to steal a conference win, but Southwestern had other plans.

The Moundbuilders equalized in the 69th minute, with
Teagan Smith finding the back of the net. Southwestern maintained the pressure, and
Abby Webb delivered the game-winning goal in the 79th minute, assisted by
Millie Hazzard.

Southwestern dominated with 13 total shots, eight on target, compared to Sterling's four shots and just two on goal. Sterling's goalkeeper Elysa Apen made six saves to keep her team in the match, but Southwestern's persistent attack proved too strong.
