WINFIELD, Kan. – The Builders (1-4-2) held on to a one-point lead until the final minutes, the late Ottawa goal gave both teams the 1-1 tie.
After a goalless first half that set the stage for an intense second half, the Moundbuilders broke the deadlock early in the second half when
Millie Hazzard scored at the 47th minute.
However, Ottawa's Makayla Remanente-Bailey leveled the score with a goal at the 88:34 mark, just before the end of regulation.
Hayden Clark, the Moundbuilders' goalkeeper, turned in a commendable performance, making several crucial saves to keep SC in the game.
The Moundbuilders will back in action, hosting Bethel College on homecoming Oct. 5, at 5 pm.
