NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — Southwestern faced a tough challenge on the road at Bethel College falling in straight sets, 25-12, 25-14, 25-14. The loss drops the Moundbuilders to 3-6 on the season.
Despite solid defensive efforts, Southwestern struggled offensively, hitting -.055 for the match.
Gabi Theut led the team with 6 kills, while
Haley Shaw added 8 digs. The Moundbuilders managed 3 blocks, with
Baylee York and Theut combining for a pair of assisted blocks.
Bethel, now 16-5, came out strong, recording 36 kills and 12 blocks. Cameron Offerle was a key player for the Threshers, posting 10 kills and 3 aces, while Mia Roman dished out 30 assists.
Southwestern looks to regroup at home, Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7 pm hosting Avila University.
