STERLING, KAN. - On Friday, March 22
nd, the Southwestern College Softball squad went on the road to battle the Warriors of Sterling College at Sterling, Kan. A high-scoring game ended with a final score of 16-8 in favor of the Warriors.

GAME 1 – 3:00 PM

Sterling College wasted no time in asserting their dominance, grabbing an early lead in the first inning with D. Perales driving in the opening run with a single to left field. They continued to pile on the pressure, with M. Green and K. Hirlas contributing RBIs to extend their lead to 3-0.

The third inning saw Sterling College explode offensively, with A. Campos blasting a two-run homer, followed by several more hits and runs scored by the Warriors. By the end of the third inning, Sterling had built an imposing 12-0 lead.

However, Southwestern College showed resilience in the fourth inning, mounting a comeback with a series of hits and taking advantage of errors by the Warriors' defense. They managed to score 8 runs in the inning, closing the gap to 12-8.

Despite Southwestern's efforts, Sterling College maintained control of the game, adding to their lead in the fifth and sixth innings. C. Cunningha's home run and timely hits from D. Perales and E. Ammerman helped secure the victory for the Warriors, ending the game with a final score of 16-8.

GAME 2 – 5:00 PM

In a lopsided affair, the softball clash between Southwestern College Builders and Sterling College Warriors concluded with an emphatic 25-3 victory for the Warriors.

Sterling College wasted no time asserting their dominance, as A. Mason kickstarted the scoring frenzy in the first inning with a single, driving in C. Cunningha. D. Perales followed suit with a hit of her own, adding another run to Sterling's tally. By the end of the first inning, Sterling had already built a 3-0 lead.

The second inning saw Sterling College's offense explode, with A. Mason continuing to perform well, knocking in multiple runs. Errors by Southwestern's defense only compounded their struggles as Sterling piled on the runs, extending their lead to 14-1 by the end of the inning.

Southwestern managed to show some signs of life in the third inning, with R. Wright driving in a run, but Sterling quickly answered back, maintaining their commanding lead. M. Dunn's triple and subsequent RBI added to Sterling's lead, which continued to grow throughout the game.

Despite a late run by Southwestern in the fifth inning, courtesy of T. Powers, Sterling College's lead proved insurmountable. The Warriors' relentless offense, combined with Southwestern's defensive lapses, resulted in a dominant victory for Sterling.

th at 1:00 PM, when they battle Avila University at Broadway Sports Complex in Winfield, Kan.
