SALINA, KAN. – On Wednesday, March 27th, the Southwestern College Flag Football squad went on the road to battle the Coyotes of Kansas Wesleyan University at Salina, Kan. Unfortunately, the Coyotes dominated the field against the Builders as they delivered a commanding performance that led to a decisive victory with a final score of 38-6.

From the onset, Kansas Wesleyan asserted their dominance, setting the tone with a strong showing in the 1st quarter. Quarterback Chihiro Iwata orchestrated the offense masterfully, connecting with Jayla Howes for a 5-yard touchdown pass early in the quarter, followed by another touchdown pass to Angel Roman from 12 yards out, putting Kansas Wesleyan ahead 14-0.

The 2nd quarter saw Kansas Wesleyan continuing their offensive onslaught, with Iwata threading the needle to find Jazmine Whitfield for a 1-yard touchdown pass, extending their lead to 20-0. Aaliyah Young joined the scoring frenzy, hauling in two touchdown passes from Iwata, one from 1 yard and another from 10 yards, further widening the gap to 32-0 by halftime.
