WINFIELD, KAN. - The Southwestern College Softball squad hosted play to the visiting Bulldogs of McPherson College at Broadway Sports Complex in Winfield, Kan.
The Builders had to take defeat against a strong team of Bulldogs.

McPherson wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring an impressive six runs in the opening inning. A series of well-executed hits and patient batting led to early runs, with A. Garcia's single driving in two runs, followed by H. Wagner's walk bringing in another. A. Solis and J. Montoya continued the onslaught with RBI singles, giving McPherson a commanding 6-0 lead.
McPherson carried their momentum into the second inning, adding three more runs to their tally. H. Wagner's single, coupled with an error, brought in two more runs, extending the lead to 8-0. A. Solis contributed with a sacrifice fly, bringing in another run to make it 9-0 in favor of McPherson.
Going into the third inning, the Builders were still not able to get anything going and the onslaught continued as McPherson piled on two more runs. M. Granados' double down the left field line brought in two runs, extending the lead to 11-0. A. Solis capitalized on a fielding error, driving in two more unearned runs, pushing McPherson's lead to an imposing 13-0.
Southwestern managed to avoid a shutout in the fifth inning, with
Taylor Mesna's fielder's choice bringing in
Leah Aguilar as the lone run for the Builders, 13-1.

The second game showed the demanding power of the Bulldogs over the Builders as McPherson won the game 5-0.
McPherson wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, with A. Lange's single bringing in the first run of the game as T. Alvarado crossed home plate, giving them an early 1-0 lead.
McPherson extended their lead in the second inning, as T. Alvarado's double to center field drove in two more runs, with K. Sarsfield and A. Solis both scoring, making it 3-0 in favor of McPherson.
In the fifth inning, the Bulldogs further solidified their lead, with A. Lange's double followed by a fielding error bringing in two more runs. This extended McPherson's lead to 5-0, putting them in a commanding position.
The Builders will be back on Wednesday, April 3rd when they travel to York, Neb., to battle York University.
