YORK, Neb  — The Moundbuilder baseball team faced a tough road series against York College, ultimately falling short and being swept, 3-5, 3-13, 3-4.
Game 1 at York | SC 3 York 5
In the first game of the series, Southwestern started strong but couldn't maintain the momentum, losing 5-3. Despite a late surge in the third inning that saw the Builders tie the score at 3-3, York's offense proved too much to handle. London Penland's double and Zach Boone's fielder's choice were the highlights of Southwestern's offense.
Game 2 at York | SC 3 York 13
In the second game, Southwestern College struggled to contain York's explosive offense, falling 13-3. Southwestern managed to take an early lead, but York quickly turned the tide with a dominant performance, particularly in the fourth and sixth innings. Despite Tyler Seboldt's double and Boone's sacrifice fly, Southwestern couldn't overcome York's relentless scoring.
Game 3 at York | SCD 3 York 4
The final game of the series was another close contest, with York College narrowly edging out Southwestern College 4-3. Carlos Camacho's early home run gave Southwestern the lead, but York responded with timely hitting, including a crucial home run by Romero. Despite a late effort by Jace Horn with a home run, York held on for the win, completing the series sweep.
The Builders are back in action Friday, April 5 but the home game has been moved to Cowley College in Arkansas City, 1500 S Summit St, Arkansas City, KS 67005, against McPherson College, first pitch will be at 5pm.
