BALDWIN, Kan. — In a hard-fought final regular season game, the Southwestern College women's flag football team fell short against Baker University, 0-14 on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
The Southwestern squad (6-7) struggled with Baker's (11-4) tenacity that ultimately secured the Wildcat win. SC's offense struggled to find its footing, unable to put any points on the board throughout the game.
Baker's defense proved to be a formidable obstacle, limiting Southwestern's offensive opportunities and capitalizing on turnovers. Despite the Moundbuilders best efforts, they were unable to overcome Baker's solid defense.
Southwestern's Miranda Dooley, who completed 12 of 22 passes for 83 yards but was intercepted once. Vivianna Solis also contributed with 45 receiving yards.
Defensively, Sammie Lobosco led the charge with 10 solo tackles, but the team couldn't contain Baker's offensive onslaught.
