Winfield, KansasÂ
Bethel College (11-9, 10-4) takes on Southwestern College (3-13, 3-11) in a KCAC battle in Stewart Field House this Wednesday at 5:00 PM. The Builders will look to ride the wave of momentum and put together back to back wins for the first time in two years. The Builders have shown some promise in recent games, winning last week's game against Avila handily and also pushing KCAC heavyweight Friends University to the Brink. Today they face the Lady Threshers of Bethel College, which will prove to be a different challenge.
For Bethel, Kendall Locke, and Natalie Richards, who both average over 15 points per game, the Builders will look to game plan against these two three-level scorers effectively. Bethel holds the scoring advantage as a team as well, averaging 70.0 points per game on 39.8% shooting. Defensively, Bethel forces turnovers, averaging 9.0 steals per game with a +1.1 turnover margin. The builders will need to play strong with the ball and eliminate turnovers.Â
Southwestern College, led by Christy Wiebe (15.1 PPG) and Macey Pond (11.5 PPG), will need to get these two standout players touches early to balance Bethel's scoring ability. Defensively for the Lady Builders will most likely be switched up throughout the game. Coach Parker has thrown the kitchen sink toward their opponents defensively all year, going from man to zone, switching to match-up zones, two-two one presses, as well as man pressure. Expect her to hold nothing in the tank tonight as they look to put together a prominent win streak.Â
