WINFIELD, Kan. — The Southwestern College women's basketball team looks to snap a tough stretch in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference  play as they prepare to travel to York University.

The Lady Builders (3-14, 3-11 ) are eager to turn the tide after recent struggles, coming off a loss to Bethel College (83-65). Despite the setbacks, the team has shown resilience, with standout performances from senior Christy Wiebe, who leads the squad with 216 points this season, and junior Macey Pond, who has been a key presence from beyond the arc, shooting 31.8% from three.

Southwestern will look to tighten up defensively against a York (6-12, 4-11) squad that claimed an 80-62 victory over the Builders in their previous meeting on January 3. The Panthers are led by Destiny Shepherd, who averages 14.6 points per game and has been their go-to scoring option. York has also been effective on the boards, with Britney Schroer pulling down 5.8 rebounds per game.

For the Lady Builders, limiting turnovers and improving efficiency from the field will be key to securing a much-needed victory. The team has averaged 62.9 points per game this season but has struggled defensively, allowing opponents to shoot over 41% from the floor. A strong showing from Southwestern's defense will be critical in keeping York's offense in check.

Tipoff is set for 1 pm at York University.
