WINFIELD,Kan. — McPherson College will host Southwestern College on Saturday afternoon in a key Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at McPherson Stadium.
Southwestern enters the contest with a 9-5 overall record and a 6-3 mark in KCAC play, placing the Moundbuilders fourth in the conference standings with four regular-season games remaining. McPherson sits at 4-7-2 overall and 2-4-2 in conference action.
The Moundbuilders are coming off an impressive 2-0 victory over Evangel. Senior midfielder Jack Bagley-Etheridge continued his standout season with his 15th goal, while Bernabe Lopez added his third. Goalkeeper KJ Masso recorded his ninth career clean sheet and made six saves. Southwestern's back line of Carlos Villalba, Adrian Gimenez, Luis Le Moignan, and Luke Anderson helped preserve the shutout.
McPherson's most recent outing ended in a 2-2 draw at Bethel College (Kan.) on Wednesday. Nathan Van Wyck scored both goals for the Bulldogs and leads the team with 10 goals this season. McPherson outshot Bethel 11–8 and showed strong offensive movement throughout the match.
The Bulldogs have rotated goalkeepers this year, with Alvaro Marchal (765 minutes, 32 saves) and Mauro Soria (405 minutes, 32 saves) sharing time in net. Soria started against Bethel, recording six saves in the draw.
Southwestern looks to continue its strong KCAC form and climb the standings, while McPherson aims to defend its home field and build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
