WINFIELD, Kan. – Southwestern looks to build upon a 53-21 victory over the University of Saint Mary (Kan.) as the Moundbuilders travel to Salina to take on Kansas Wesleyan in a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Bissell Division matchup. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at JRI Hospitality Stadium.
Southwestern (7-3) (2-2 KCAC Bissell) continues to dominate the NAIA on the offensive front. The Builders are ranked in the top five in points per game (51), passing yards per game (319.7), passing touchdowns (40), and total yards per game (533). Quarterback Jamie Odom leads the Builders offense with 279 passing yards per game and a passer rating of 184.1. Wide receiver/running back Joe Smyth has taken over the ground game for the Moundbuilders in recent weeks, tallying 180 rushing yards in the victory over Saint Mary in Week 11. Smyth also added two scores through the air, his 16th and 17th touchdowns of the 2025 campaign
Defensively, Southwestern will need to win the turnover battle to defeat a gritty Kansas Wesleyan offense. The linebacker trio of Corbin Williams, DreShaun Flowers, and Isaiah Yehudah looks to step up in the final battle of the 2025 regular season, hoping to add to their 150 tackles, three fumble recoveries, and two sacks.
Kansas Wesleyan (7-3) (3-1 KCAC Bissell) enters week 12 off a massive win over 24th-ranked McPherson College, and will look to add another ranked win to their resume as teams fight for the final at-large bids in the 20-team NAIA Playoffs. Quarterback Henry Austad leads the Coyotes offense, averaging 187 passing yards per game, and has totaled nine touchdowns and four interceptions on the season. Senior running back D'Heaven Domena will look to continue to be the dominant force of the Coyotes' ground game, averaging more than five yards per carry and accumulating 10 scores through week 11.
The matchup has been split (5-5) between Southwestern and Kansas Wesleyan in the past ten seasons of play. However, the Builders dominantly won the 2024 matchup, with a 44-14 victory over the Coyotes.
