KEARNEY, Neb. — Southwestern College dropped a midseason nonconference contest, falling 111-43 to the University of Nebraska-Kearney on Monday morning.
The Lady Builders trailed 32-14 after the first quarter and 60-27 at halftime as the Lopers capitalized on 21 Southwestern turnovers and controlled the tempo throughout the game.
Martha De La Rosa led Southwestern with 12 points. Macey Pond added nine points, connecting on three 3-pointers, while Allyson Frank finished with seven points and a team-high six rebounds. Breanna Goad contributed six points.
Nebraska-Kearney connected on 15 3-pointers and recorded 38 assists. Malgorzata Byczkowska led all scorers with 25 points, while Myleigh Weers added 16 and Tara Biocanin scored 14.
The Lady Builders will return to conference play following the holiday break on Saturday, Jan. 3, when they travel to York University for a 1 p.m. tipoff in York, Neb., against the Panthers.
