Southwestern Women Visit Oklahoma Wesleyan for Midweek KCAC Matchup

WINFIELD, Kan.— Southwestern College continues its conference schedule Wednesday December 10th, when the Lady Builders travel to play Oklahoma Wesleyan in a KCAC matchup set for a 6 p.m. tipoff at the Mueller Sports Center.

Southwestern (4-6, 0-5) enters the game looking to halt a difficult start in league play. The Lady Builders have fared better on the road with four away wins, but are still seeking their first conference victory. Oklahoma Wesleyan (4-5, 0-5) finds itself in a similar position, having dropped five straight conference contests.

Southwestern leans heavily on senior forward Macey Pond, who leads the team with 15.1 points per game and 7.9 rebounds while shooting 41 percent from the field. Guard Breanna Goad averages 10.6 points and is shooting 92 percent from the free-throw line. Kennedy Ford adds 10.1 points and 5.4 rebounds, and Martha De La Rosa contributes 9.2 points and a team-high 22 assists.

The Lady Builders average 61.4 points while shooting 38.9 percent, but have struggled defensively in conference play, surrendering 71.3 points per game. Rebounding and turnovers have been recurring challenges; Southwestern is at a minus-6.1 margin on the boards and commits 14.8 turnovers per game.

Oklahoma Wesleyan is paced by guard Gracie Alexander, who leads the Eagles with 13.0 points per game while logging nearly 36 minutes. Forward Khassidy Warr adds 9.4 points and 6.4 rebounds and is shooting 56 percent from the floor. The Eagles average 57.8 points and shoot 38 percent overall, but have been limited offensively in recent conference outings. They have also struggled from beyond the arc at 26.4 percent.

The matchup history trends sharply toward Oklahoma Wesleyan, which has won nine straight meetings and holds a 19-8 advantage in the all-time series. The Eagles swept both matchups last season, including an 82-62 home win on Feb. 5, 2025. Southwestern's last victory in the series came on Dec. 5, 2019.

For Southwestern, securing rebounds, reducing turnovers and generating early scoring will be critical. Oklahoma Wesleyan will look for consistent production from Alexander and Warr while trying to improve its perimeter shooting and control pace on its home floor.

Tipoff is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Bartlesville as both teams aim to climb in the KCAC standings and snap early-season conference slides.
