The Southwestern College Builders will return home to Richard L. Jantz Stadium for a crucial conference matchup against the Bethel College Threshers on Wednesday, March 19, at 4:00 p.m.
Southwestern (3-3, 3-3) is coming off a tough 32-12 loss to William Woods but is hoping to build on their recent victories against Cottey (13-6), Campbellsville (12-8), and Graceland (19-13). The Builders have showcased a balanced offense, with quarterback Kennedi Hayes leading the way through the air, accumulating 1,054 passing yards and 12 touchdowns this season. Receiver Olivia Manfre has been a key target, hauling in 30 catches for 375 yards and four touchdowns.
On defense, Teagan Smith has been a standout, recording 29 tackles and two sacks, while Vivianna Solis has contributed with four interceptions. Southwestern will need another strong defensive effort to contain Bethel's offense, which has struggled this season.
Bethel (0-4, 0-4) enters the game still looking for their first win. Despite the rough start, the Threshers' offense has shown flashes of potential, with quarterback Kyndall Longman throwing for 486 yards and three touchdowns. Bethel's rushing attack, led by Tatiana McCollum, has been a reliable source of offense, with McCollum posting 123 yards on 28 carries.
The Builders will look to take advantage of Bethel's struggles on both sides of the ball, including their passing defense, which has allowed over 1,300 yards this season. Southwestern's offense has the opportunity to exploit these weaknesses and secure another conference victory.
