WINFIELD, Kan. – Southwestern College triumphed over Bethel College in a one-sided flag football contest, blowing out the Threshers 47-0 at Richard L. Jantz Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Southwestern's offense was unstoppable, with quarterback Kennedi Hayes leading the charge. She contributed both in the air and on the ground, connecting with multiple receivers and rushing for key touchdowns. Olivia Manfre's interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter and Andrea Moon's pick-six in the third helped extend Southwestern's commanding lead.
Bethel struggled offensively, failing to generate any significant yardage or points throughout the game. The Threshers were unable to get any first downs or find rhythm in either the rushing or passing game. Southwestern's defense was relentless, forcing turnovers and preventing Bethel from mounting any serious threats.
The game was effectively decided by halftime, with Southwestern leading 41-0. Despite a quiet fourth quarter, the Moundbuilders remained dominant, securing their victory with ease.
The win pushes Southwestern's momentum forward as they continue their flag football campaign, while Bethel will look to regroup after a tough loss.
