WINFIELD, Kan – Southwestern College's flag football team will face off against Graceland University's Yellowjackets (3-0, 2-0) for the first time in program history on Saturday, March 8, at Huntsman Field. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.

The Builders (0-2, 0-2) are coming off back-to-back losses to Baker University (34-12) and Kansas Wesleyan (38-12). In their previous matchups, Southwestern struggled on both sides of the ball, with their offense averaging just 223 yards per game while allowing 341.5 yards per game. Quarterback Kennedi Hayes has shown promise, totaling 327 passing yards and three touchdowns, but will need better support from the offense to compete effectively.

Graceland enters the game with a 2-0 record, having defeated Cottey College (18-12) and Bethel College (40-21). The Yellowjackets have been efficient on offense, with quarterback Shyla Barrios leading the charge. Barrios has passed for 461 yards and one touchdown in two games, while also contributing 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The Yellowjackets have also shown their defensive prowess, totaling six interceptions and 24 solo tackles in their opening two contests.

Southwestern will need to improve on third-down efficiency and control the time of possession, which has been a challenge in their first two games. Meanwhile, Graceland will look to continue their strong defensive play and explosive offense as they seek to maintain their undefeated record.
