Winfield, Kan. — Southwestern College (5-4, 5-4) will look to extend its winning streak when they travel to North Newton, Kansas to take on the Bethel College Threshers (0-8, 0-8) on Wednesday, April 2 at 6:00 PM.
The Builders are coming off a 19-7 win over Saint Mary's last weekend. Their balanced offense has been led by quarterback Kennedi Hayes, who has thrown for 1,354 yards and 17 touchdowns, while Olivia Manfre leads the receiving corps with 513 yards and seven TDs. In addition, Mary Jones has been a standout in the return game, averaging 37.1 all-purpose yards per game.
Southwestern has dominated the all-time series with Bethel, winning all three matchups dating back to February 2024. The most recent victory, on March 19, 2025, saw the Builders shut out the Threshers 47-0, marking their third straight win over Bethel. In that contest, Manfre caught a pair of touchdowns, while Hayes threw for 248 yards and three scores.
Bethel will look to improve upon their tough season, which has seen them struggle on both sides of the ball. Their offense, led by quarterback Kyndall Longman, has managed just 668 passing yards and three touchdowns through nine games. Defensively, they have allowed an average of 212.8 yards per game but will need to step up to compete with a high-powered Southwestern offense.
This will be Southwestern's first road test since their 12-8 win over Campbellsville on March 14 and 12-32 loss against William Woods on March 15. They will aim to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. With a solid record of 2-2 on the road, the Builders will be favorites to secure the win against Bethel, but they'll need to stay sharp to keep their playoff hopes alive.
