WINFIELD, Kans. — The Moundbuilders evened their record at 1-1 with a thrilling 3-2 home win against Central Christian College on Wednesday. The Builders will host Hastings College at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3rd.
Southwestern struck first in the 16th minute against Central Christian College when
Marcus Rostad scored his first goal of his freshman season off an assist from captain
Jack Bagley-Etheridge.
Connor Inlow added his second goal of the year, and sophomore
Marcos Benavidez converted a late penalty kick to secure the 3-2 victory.
Hastings College (0-2-1) is looking for its first win of the season. The Broncos opened with a 1-0 home loss to Bellevue University, fell 2-1 to Park University, and played to a 2-2 draw with Graceland University. They are averaging one goal per game through three matches.
Junior goalkeeper Ethan Watkins has started all three matches for Hastings, playing every minute in net while recording 14 saves and a .737 save percentage. Sophomores Adonis Shabani and Tim Berger and senior David Hoti have also started every game. Each has scored once, with Berger adding an assist.

Connor Inlow to continue producing after scoring in back-to-back matches. The back line is led by sophomore
Adrian Gimenez and anchored by goalkeeper
KJ Masso. The Builders also aim to build on their team chemistry in upcoming matches.
