WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern will look to build upon its 61-10 road victory over Ottawa when the Moundbuilders host Bethany College in a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference cross-divisional matchup at Richard L. Jantz Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. 

Southwestern (3-1) enters the matchup with ferocious momentum, averaging 546 yards of offense per game. Quarterback Jamie Odom is setting the pace for the Builders with 1,143 passing yards, 183 rushing yards, and 17 total touchdowns. Receiver Matthew Holthusen continues to be the primary target for the offense, hauling in 22 passes for 494 yards and five touchdowns so far this season, while running backs Jaydon Sundgren and Joshua Mazyck will look to dominate the ground game for the Builders.

Bethany (2-2) enters the clash on a two-game win streak, with eight-point victories over Saint Mary (Kan.) and Sterling College. Quarterback Jessie Caver III looks to continue his recent success as a dual threat option for the Swedes offense. Caver III has rushed for two touchdowns in the past two weeks and tossed seven more through the air. 

Defensively, Bethany has forced five turnovers and added six sacks this season. The Swedes have also excelled in the kicking game, converting 90.9% of their PATs. 

Southwestern's defense has thrived in the first four weeks of the 2025 season, allowing only 293 yards of offense per game and 73 total points. The Builders have also forced six interceptions, which leads the highly competitive Bissell Division. 

The matchup has favored Southwestern in the last 10 years, as the Moundbuilders have held a record of 9-1 over Bethany since 2014, including a dominant 62-7 victory over the Swedes in 2024.
