WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern College men's soccer looks to rebound from its most recent outing as the Moundbuilders host Randall University on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Richard L. Jantz Stadium.
The Moundbuilders and Saints are both 1-2-0, with Southwestern falling 3-2 at home to Hastings in its last match and Randall losing 5-1 to Oklahoma Panhandle State.
Despite taking an early lead against Hastings College, Southwestern was unable to hold on and lost 3-2. Senior
Connor Inlow scored his third goal of the season — one in each match so far — while captain
Jack Bagley-Etheridge added a goal and recorded four of the team's eight shots on goal. With a steady back line and goalkeeper
KJ Masso anchoring the defense with 21 saves this season, the Moundbuilders will look to secure another home victory.
Randall has leaned on Jason Montanez-Martinez for its scoring, with five of the Saints' seven goals this season. Jake Martinez has contributed one goal on three shots, and Pedro Da Silva has added a goal on five attempts. The trio accounts for nearly all of the Saints' scoring and will be key to their chances in Winfield.
Southwestern aims to add another nonconference win on Tuesday when hosting Randall University. The Builders have shown balance early in the season, creating scoring chances while holding firm on defense.
