WICHITA, Kan. — Following Southwestern College's impressive 40-21 road victory over No. 7 Friends University, two Moundbuilders have earned Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday.
Linebacker Isaiah Yehudah was named KCAC Defensive Player of the Week, while kicker Jeremiah Schaefer earned KCAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors. The selections came after both players delivered outstanding performances in Southwestern's upset victory Saturday at Adair-Austin Stadium in Wichita, Kansas.
Yehudah, a redshirt junior linebacker from Chicago, led the Southwestern defense with eight total tackles, including six solo stops and two assisted tackles. He also recorded half a tackle for loss, forced two fumbles and recovered another, helping the Moundbuilders force five fumbles and recover four throughout the contest.
Yehudah's impact was felt early, as he recovered a Friends fumble in the first quarter that set up Southwestern's second touchdown of the afternoon. He continued to make plays throughout the contest, forcing a fumble in the second quarter before delivering another forced fumble late in the fourth quarter that was recovered by Joshua Mars.
The defensive effort helped Southwestern hold the Falcons to just 75 passing yards and keep Friends scoreless throughout the fourth quarter, securing one of the Moundbuilders' biggest victories of the season.
Schaefer, a junior kicker from Augusta, Kansas, also played a major role in Southwestern's victory, accounting for 10 points while converting two field goals and all four of his extra-point attempts.
Schaefer opened the scoring with a 29-yard field goal in the first quarter before connecting on a 42-yard attempt to extend Southwestern's advantage to 20-7. He finished the contest 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts while also handling kickoff and punting responsibilities.
On kickoffs, Schaefer recorded three touchbacks on eight attempts, totaling 466 yards. He also punted twice for 52 yards, including one punt that pinned Friends inside its own 20-yard line.
The recognition marks Schaefer's second KCAC Special Teams Player of the Week honor of the 2026 season, having previously received the award Sept. 22.
The two weekly honors highlight Southwestern's strong performance against the nationally ranked Falcons, as the Moundbuilders improved to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in KCAC divisional play.
The weekly award winners were selected by a vote of conference sports information directors based on performances from Oct. 19-25. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.
