WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern College women's soccer fell 3-0 to Southern Nazarene University Saturday night at Richard L. Jantz Stadium.

Southern Nazarene opened the scoring just 27 seconds into the match before adding a second goal in the 14th minute. Southwestern settled in after the early deficit and kept the Crimson Storm off the board for the remainder of the half, heading into halftime down 2-0.

The Moundbuilders continued to battle in the second half and were able to create a pair of shots after being held without one in the opening 45 minutes. 

Southwestern kept the deficit at two for much of the second half before Southern Nazarene added its final goal in the 72nd minute to extend the lead to 3-0.

Southwestern will now turn its attention to KCAC play. The Moundbuilders open conference action Wednesday, Sept. 16, against Friends University at Richard L. Jantz Stadium in Winfield. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
