Dakota Crichton joined the Southwestern College football coaching staff in 2025 and serves as a graduate assistant working with the Moundbuilders’ offensive line. His recruiting areas include northwest Kansas and western Oklahoma.
Before joining Southwestern, Crichton served as an assistant offensive line coach at Fort Hays State University in 2025. During his time with the Tigers, he helped coach and develop three All-MIAA offensive linemen. Josh Shaw earned unanimous first-team All-MIAA honors, Porter Dannevik was named to the All-MIAA second team and Dawson Reynolds received honorable mention recognition.
Crichton previously spent three seasons at Oklahoma Panhandle State University from 2022-24, serving as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator. While at OPSU, he coached Kalum Anchondo to first-team All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors on the offensive line.
A native of Council Grove, Kansas, Crichton played collegiately at Fort Scott Community College and Kansas Wesleyan University. During his time at Kansas Wesleyan, the Coyotes won back-to-back KCAC championships in 2018 and 2019. The 2018 team advanced to the NAIA Football Championship Series semifinals, while the 2019 squad reached the quarterfinals.
Crichton earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Kansas Wesleyan University in 2020. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports management at Southwestern College.
