Trevor Strong

    Trevor Strong continues in his role as the Defensive Coordinator in 2025, which will be his seventh season with Southwestern College. Additionally, Strong serves as the Recruiting Coordinator and he was promoted to Assistant Head Coach in the 2022 offseason after an unforgettable run by the Builder football squad in 2021, as he adds additional responsibility to his plate. He also coaches the team's Defensive Backs in an advanced capacity. 

    The Moundbuilder defense has been impressive since Strong's tenure beginning in 2019. Over the last 5 seasons the Builder defense has only given up 16.9 Pts/Game and has ranked in the Top 10 in total defense nationally 4 of the last 5 seasons. Most recently the 2024 defense finished #3 in the NAIA in Total Defense and led the country in total interceptions breaking a school record with 26 Total INTS. Defensively, Strong has coached 56 All-Conference players and 4 All-Americans. The defense has been a strong focal point in the Builder's 3 Conference Championships in 2021,2022, and 2024. 

    A 2014 graduate of Morningside College, Strong earned a degree in Business Administration.  He was a two-year starter and two-time all-Great Plains Athletic Conference selection.  He helped Morningside to three conference titles and an NAIA national runner-up finish in 2012.  In 2012, he was a member of the best defensive scoring squad in the nation.

    Strong originally from Fremont, Nebraska was an All-State performer in both football and basketball in high school.

    Strong earned his Master’s of Business Leadership degree from William Penn in 2016.  He and his wife Rachel reside in Winfield. The couple have two children, Nolan & Rylee.Â
