Maggie Hans heads into her third season in the role of head volleyball coach at Southwestern College in 2023.

Hans, a Wichita native, is the 16th head volleyball coach in Southwestern program history. She is a former high school and college volleyball player, competing at Dodge City Community College before finishing her career at Bethel College. While at Bethel she played outside, right side and libero. She earned her bachelor's degree from Bethel College in 2014 in Health and Physical Education with an emphasis in Coaching. At the same time, Hans also worked as an assistant coach at Hesston College. Shortly after graduation, she was hired as a graduate assistant for McPherson College. She proceeded to complete her Master's degree in Health and Human Performance Health Sciences at Fort Hays State.

While at McPherson, Hans worked with Coach Jessica Biegert to compile a 77-28 record during her time there. The Bulldogs won the KCAC's regular-season championship with a 12-0 record and placed second in the KCAC postseason tournament. Following a move to Colorado, Hans was asked to come back to McPherson as the interim coach at the NAIA National Tournament, which was the school's first national appearance.

Living in Colorado, Hans earned a teaching certification and became the volleyball coach at Pinnacle Charter School in Denver. As head coach, she saw the Timberwolves improve their record each season.  She also worked with Ballistic Club Volleyball developing their 16 and above age levels.
